QuietWalk is made by one person. If something is broken, confusing, or missing, write to me directly — I read every message.
Please mention your device (iPhone model, and whether an Apple Watch is involved) and what you were doing when it went wrong. I usually reply within a few days.
A session alternates a slow phase and a brisk one. Each change of pace is signalled by a pattern of taps, so the phone can stay in your pocket and the screen can stay dark. If the screen is off, a notification carries the same signal — allow notifications the first time you tap Begin, or the switches will be silent.
On iPhone, taps play while the app is in the foreground; once the screen is off, the phase changes arrive as notifications instead. Check that notifications are allowed in Settings → QuietWalk. On Apple Watch, a walk runs as a workout session, so the taps keep arriving with your wrist down.
No — the iPhone app is complete on its own. The watch app adds wrist taps with your wrist down, live heart rate and calories, and saves the walk to Health as a workout. With both apps open, starting or pausing on one device does the same on the other.
QuietWalk asks for Health permission the first time you finish a session. If you declined, open the Health app → Sharing → Apps → QuietWalk and turn writing back on. Everything in QuietWalk keeps working either way; only the Health entries are skipped.
The 30-minute walk on a 3-minute rhythm is free forever, and so is every breathing exercise at every length. QuietWalk Zen is one optional purchase, paid once and never a subscription, which opens walks of 15, 45 and 60 minutes and rhythms of 2 or 5 minutes.
Open the unlock screen (tap the session line under the ring, then any locked option) and choose Restore purchase. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
The music is streamed, so it needs an internet connection. If a track stays silent, check your connection, then try the next track. During breathing, silence is the default — tap the speaker button beside Begin if you would like the ambient music there too.
Your journal lives only on your device, which keeps it private but also means deleting the app deletes its history. Your walks and mindful minutes remain in the Health app.
QuietWalk has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Full details are in the privacy policy.
